Celebrating Over 100 Years!
Owners Johnny and Teresa Greer held a special Anniversary party Saturday, October 18th, 2008 at Bellamys to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the establishment of the Bellamy Hardware Building.  Bellamy's was established in
October of 1908 by Mr. Neal Bellamy. The Hardware building served as the only continuous business in operation in
Surgoinsville for over 80 years and has hosted the 3rd Saturday of the month Bluegrass shows since 2001.

Shown above is a picture dating to 1925 depicting M.L Morrell beside his 1924 Armleader
truck in front of the Bellamy Building. Mr. Morrell was one of three owners of Knoxville Freight
Line that made deliveries from Knoxville to Kingsport. The Armleader's top speed was 20 MPH,
and the round trip for delivery to the area took two days.
