Celebrating 100 Years
Visit
If you haven't spent an evening at Bellamy's, you have missed a special treat. One never quite
knows what to expect when you spend the evening in beautiful downtown Surgoinsville,
high above the Holston River, as Miss Rose
would put it. Miss Rose is our local celebrity,
stand-up comic, and infamous actor. She is
enjoying her 7th year in this unique role and is in
constant demand in the area as emcee for
community events. This lady has never met a
stranger, and is an inspiration to be around
because of her positve attitude.

In addition to Rose, Bellamy's has been a success
not only known for it's fantastic music shows,
but also for the many other events that have taken
place there this hundred years.
Bellamy will celebrate it's 100th birthday this year and you can feel the history when you walk
through the original front doors and onto the old wood floors. This historical store once housed a
Justice of the Peace, where civil matters and various types of kangaroo court were held under
the supervision of the original Bellamy Family.

The upstairs housed an occasional body as the store sold funeral supplies and sometimes
accommodated families until time for burial.  Just ask Teresa about her resident ghost who she
affectionately calls Sylvia. She can often be heard in the back of the store, clomping along
upstairs in what Teresa thinks are high heels. We think she's a friendly sort, like everyone else at
Bellamy's.

If you're looking for a light hearted evening of good entertainment provided by Rose Jones, and a
quality Bluegrass band, come to Surgionsville the third Saturday of the month.
